100%
new, the 450 uses the proven formulas from the brand’s 250cc & 300cc capacity models.
The chassis, while specific for housing the larger motor, maintains the
ergonomics of the 300 & 250 SE-F. The frame is a development of the
highly-reputed semi-perimeter Sherco frame in chromium molybdenum steel,
an option selected by Sherco to offer a manoeuvrability/stability
compromise perfectly suited to the highly diverse conditions that may be
encountered in the enduro pilot.
Sherco remains loyal to the equipment manufacturers with the best
reputations: WP for the front & rear suspension, Brembo for brakes, & Trail Tech for
the instrument computer. The next generation motor is
more compact with higher-performance than the previous generation 450.
The timing uses cascading pinion gears and chains and the valves
are steel for greater longevity and extreme enduro use. Power is
provided by the Synerject fuel system, developed specifically by Sherco for
more precisely governing idling and engine braking, and ensuring optimum power delivery.
With the majority of the offering from other
brands utilising a 5 speed transmission & mechanical clutch activation
with cable, the Sherco 450 SEF-R utilises a 6 speed transmission with
hydraulic clutch system.
